The Texas Two-Step
In 1992, the "tradition" took a dramatic turn with the first actual publication of a commercially printed HOOBLER FAMILY COOKBOOK. About (50) copies of the bound cookbook were printed and distributed to families at the reunion and the publisher stocked a limited number of extra for Hoobler's who were not able to attend the reunion. The extra copies of the cookbook were quickly sold and the publication became forever "out of print." Now the 1992 issue Hoobler Family Cookbook has become a national treasure and heirloom among the (50) or so Hoobler Families that have the cookbook and is now the "talk of the town" at each and every Hoobler Reunion since. This tradition is being continued at the 2010 Hoobler Family Reunion in June. Gail Hoobler has accepted the challenge of putting together a bound Hoobler Family Cookbook and will make it available to each and every Hoobler Family, but as the initial supply lasts. The plan includes printing (100) cookbooks and give First Priority to each Hoobler that submits a favorite recipe, the remaining cookbooks will be kept on the shelf and distributed by special request; the request must come from a Hoobler that already submitted a recipe (and received a Cookbook) and the request would be for another Hoobler in their immediate family. As they say in Texas, "no ticky, no laundry." There is only way to guarantee that you'll receive a 2010 Hoobler Famly Reunion Cookbook is to submit your recipe! And if you'd like, you may also include a short paragraph or a sentence or two about a unique aspect of your family; including a photograph. The short paragraph, photo, or a unique aspect is optional but does add to the overall theme of the family tradition. Our thanks to Jim & Marge Hoobler for hosting the Reunion being held in Canadian, Texas. Step Two, Submit Your
