George Mortimer Hoobler , sixth son of Jacob III and Margaret Elmira Smith Hoobler, was born January 28,1877 in Livingston County, Illinois, just south of Streator. That summer, his family immigrated to Kansas.While attending the Kansas City Veterinary School, he met Dora E. Smitherman. They were married March 9,1910 in Kansas City. Dora was born in Berwyn, near Boken Bow on April 1, 1885. George bought the veterinary practice of Dr. Vinnedge, and practiced for 35 years, after his retirement, they moved to Lincoln. George died in Lincoln on July 14, 1967, and is buried in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Dora died May 23,1976. Their sons Everett and Lewis C were adopted. (from a local newspaper) Dr. G. M.
