Jacob Hoobler
was born January 4, 1795 and died October 29, 1878 near Baltic, Tuscawaras
County, Ohio. He married Mary M. "Polly" Shawver on June 3, 1824 in
Harrison County. He first had a farm near his uncle Adam and a cousin also
named Jacob in Germano, Harrison County. He later bought farmland in the
1850s on the south edge of Baltic, Ohio. He is recorded donating part of his
land for a church cemetery that is now called the Hoobler-Syler-Lint Cemetery.
