Hoobler & Bair research; Information
provided by Jeff and Jane Losey on November 4, 2007
Recently I found the home page
for the Hoobler family. John Hoobler married Magdalena Bair, daughter of
Daniel & Eva Bair, my ancestors. The home page says John &
Magdalena are buried in New Rumley,
Harrison County
,
OH
at the old church cemetery. My information is that they were buried in
the Bare cemetery in Rumley Twp. There was 6 people buried here, Daniel
Bare, Eva Bare, John Hoobler, Magdalena Hoobler, Susannah Stall &
William Stall. I have not visited this cemetery as it is far from the
road. I visited the family that owned the farm where this cemetery is in
April of 2006. They volunteered to take me (by way of walking) to the
cemetery, which is up on the hill by the ridge line. My husband is not
able to walk to something like that and I did not want to make him wait on me so
I declined and told them I would be back some other time to do this. I
did, however, get a picture of the stones from a book in the library. It
is not a very good picture.
Magalena had an older sister
Mary who was married to James McLaughlin. They lived near here until 1848
when they sold their land to William Stall and they moved to Wyandot Co
Ohio
. Mary is my direct line with her being my 4th great grandmother.
If
you are interested I would like to share info that I have on this family.
